A small online beauty shop, built for skin that reacts to everything.
Tidepool started with one sensitive face and a drawer full of half-used makeup that made it itch. The fix turned out to be a short list of brands that actually formulate for reactive skin - and a lot of reading ingredient labels. We opened a small online shop in Gallipolis, Ohio to put that short list in one place.
How a product gets on the shelf
- We read the full ingredient list and check it against the common irritant lists dermatologists use for contact dermatitis, eczema and rosacea.
- We favour gentle formulas: fragrance-free or low-fragrance, non-comedogenic, and no harsh physical scrubs.
- We wear it. Every new product is worn by our team - including our most reactive skin - for at least two weeks before it goes on sale.
- We only buy from the brands or their authorized distributors, so every product is genuine and stored properly.
Why Tower 28 is first
Tower 28 was the brand that made the idea click: bright, fun color made specifically for sensitive skin. It's still the biggest shelf in the shop. Alongside it we carry Kosas, Saie, ILIA, Live Tinted, Kulfi, Lawless, Merit, Jones Road, Half Magic and Byoma - 233 products in all.
The promise
